| This historic photograph taken by Joe Rosenthal in 1945 depicts the raising of the American flag on top of Mount Suribachi during the battle of Iwo Jima in WW2. There was a debate as to whether the image was staged because of its perfect compostion. The event of the flag raising was staged because this was the second flag that was raised, but the photograph was Not Staged. Here's the actual footage. |
